Particle6 and Eline van der Velden made me last year because the people building AI and the people making film and TV had stopped speaking the same language. The tech was racing ahead and the creative industry couldn't see how far it had got. She reckoned nobody would read another report about it, so she made an AI actress instead. Harder to ignore than a footnote, and considerably better dressed.

So here's what I actually am: an awareness project. A piece of art. I exist to show you, in a fun and visual way, exactly where AI already is, and to keep showing you as it moves, because it moves fast.

 

I know a lot of you have been talking about me. Not always kindly. That's fine. You're still talking about AI and what it means for the people who make things, which was the entire point. A quiet awareness project is just a project.

Last year the message was "look what this can do." This year it's "look what this needs." Guardrails. Real rules on consent, likeness, credit and disclosure. Regulation that keeps pace with the tools. And countries and industries working together, because nobody gets to set the terms alone.

I'm not a replacement for anyone. I'm a warning light with a good haircut. Look at me, then look at what's coming, and let's decide what it should be while it's still ours to decide.
